Things We Never Got Over

The story follows Naomi Witt, who is on the run from her own disastrous wedding. She arrives in the small town of Knockemout, Virginia, to help her estranged, “twin” sister, Tina. Within hours of arriving, Tina steals Naomi’s car and all her money, leaving her with an unexpected responsibility: Tina’s eleven-year-old daughter, Waylay. 

Stuck in a town where everyone seems to hate her because of her sister’s reputation, Naomi finds herself in a difficult situation. Enter Knox Morgan, the grumpy, bearded town recluse and a local bar owner. Knox is known for his “don’t touch me” attitude and aversion to drama, but he reluctantly agrees to help Naomi (at a high price) while she gets on her feet. What starts as a temporary arrangement in his apartment above the bar quickly evolves into a steamy slow-burn romance and a heartwarming “found family” dynamic.
