Things We Hide From The Light

The story is set in the charming but chaotic small town of Knockemout, Virginia. Police Chief Nash Morgan is struggling to recover both physically and mentally after nearly dying in a shooting incident. His Southern charm has been overshadowed by PTSD, panic attacks, and nightmares, and he feels like a “broody shell” of the man he once was. 

Lina Solavita, a smart and secretive insurance recovery agent, moves in next door to Nash. She is in town on a mission to recover a stolen object related to the crime ring that nearly killed Nash, a fact she keeps hidden from him. Despite their initial reluctance to get involved—Lina doesn’t do relationships, and Nash is emotionally unavailable—an intense connection forms between them.
