The Ballad of Never After

The story picks up immediately after the devastating cliffhanger of the first book. The protagonist, Evangeline Fox, a naive and hopeful young woman, is now grappling with the shocking revelation that her husband, Apollo, tried to kill her. 

Evangeline once again finds herself inextricably linked to Jacks, the Prince of Hearts, a powerful and dangerously charming immortal with a reputation for breaking hearts and bringing tragic ends to any woman who falls in love with him (the “Kiss of Death”). Jacks is cursed to be unable to touch anyone he truly loves without killing them. Bound by circumstance and a complex, magical contract, Evangeline and Jacks embark on a quest to locate the long-lost stones of the Valory Arch, a mystical key that could hold the power to save or doom the realms. The journey is fraught with political intrigue, dangerous magic, hidden histories, and a growing, forbidden attraction between the two.
