The story follows the fractured relationship between a mother and daughter who are forced into a reluctant reunion. Nora Bridge is a famous radio talk-show host known for her moral advice. Her daughter, Ruby, is a struggling stand-up comedian in Los Angeles who hasn’t spoken to her in a decade. When a scandal from Nora’s past breaks and she is injured in an accident, Ruby is offered a fortune by a magazine to write a “tell-all” exposé about her mother.
