Seven Days in June

They unexpectedly meet at a literary event in Brooklyn, rekindling a deep, unresolved connection. Unbeknownst to their peers, Eva and Shane shared a secret, intense, week-long romance as troubled teenagers, the abrupt end of which broke Eva’s heart.   Over the course of seven days in a steamy Brooklyn summer, they are forced to confront their shared past, including childhood traumas, addiction, chronic pain, and self-harm, which they had secretly been writing about in their respective books through the years. The novel balances steamy romance with deeper themes of motherhood, generational trauma, Black life in America, and the power of second chances.
