Powerless

The story centers on Sloane Winthrop, a people-pleasing ballerina who has spent years trying to meet her wealthy family’s expectations, including an engagement to a man she doesn’t love.  Jasper Gervais, a professional hockey heartthrob and a de facto member of the Eaton family (the focus of the series), has been Sloane’s best friend since childhood. He has secretly loved her for years, hiding his feelings behind the “friend zone” to protect their relationship. 

When Sloane’s life unravels on her wedding day, it’s Jasper who swoops in to rescue her. They embark on an impromptu road trip to escape the expectations of high-society life, giving them time alone to confront their pasts and their suppressed feelings.
