Once Upon a Broken Heart

The story follows Evangeline Fox, a hopeful and romantic young woman who grew up believing in true love and happy endings. When the love of her life, Luc, is set to marry her stepsister, Marisol, she becomes desperate to stop the wedding and preserve her own happily ever after. 

In a moment of despair, Evangeline travels to the magnificent Magnifico’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum to strike a bargain with Jacks, the immortal and dangerously charming Prince of Hearts and a Fate (god-like beings who control aspects of the universe). Jacks is infamous for his “Kiss of Death” curse—anyone he truly loves, he kills. 

Jacks agrees to stop the wedding in exchange for three kisses from Evangeline, to be given on a schedule of his choosing. The wedding is stopped, but Evangeline quickly learns that making deals with the Fates is never simple. She is drawn into a world of treacherous politics, ancient curses, and dark magic she never imagined.
