The narrative follows Cristy Ward, the lead producer of a popular true-crime podcast called Hindsight. Looking to revive her career and distance herself from a recent separation from her husband, Cristy zeroes in on a notorious, 16-year-old cold case known as the Kellon Manse Murders. On a quiet summer day in 2008, three people—a mother (Margaret), her daughter (Lexie), and a family friend/therapist (Serena)—were brutally murdered. To complicate the tragedy, Lexie’s 10-year-old daughter, Amelia, vanished from the scene and was never found. While the police were initially convinced that Lexie’s husband, David, was the killer, the case unexpectedly crumbled before going to trial, leaving him a free man. As Cristy and her team launch the podcast and interview old witnesses, new secrets emerge, uncovering a dark backstory tied to branding, hidden cults, and escalating danger for the production crew.
