Set in August 1983, the story follows four famous siblings over a single 24-hour period during their legendary annual end-of-summer party in Malibu, California. The narrative centers on the Riva siblings, the offspring of legendary (and largely absent) singer Mick Riva. The story culminates in a wild, out-of-control party that ends with the family mansion in flames.  The 1983 Timeline: Covers the day of the party as tension builds between the siblings and secrets come to light.  The Flashback Timeline: Details the history of the family, starting with their parents, Mick and June, meeting in 1956. It explores Mick’s rise to fame and his eventual abandonment of the family, forcing the children to raise themselves.
