Set in 1997, the story follows Michelle, a city-dwelling ad executive who moves to small-town Vermont to temporarily run her late mother’s bed and breakfast after a difficult divorce. She meets her next-door neighbor, Cliff Burke, a charming baker and single dad. Cliff has two daughters and is often described as the “town golden boy”. Michelle only intends to stay for three months, creating a “ticking clock” on their relationship.
